Leyden Jar

Product Detail
The Leyden Jar is a historical yet essential apparatus, representing the original form of the electrical capacitor, used for fundamental demonstrations of charge storage, electrostatic induction, and the function of a dielectric.
The standard educational model consists of a glass or plastic jar (the dielectric) with conductive metal coatings (often foil or metal cups) covering the inner and outer surfaces, nearly reaching the jar's neck. A metal rod, often terminating in an external sphere or hook, passes through an insulating stopper and connects electrically to the inner coating.
