Product Detail
This is the standard metal holder designed to support a single lens or mirror. It is prized for its durability and its ability to maintain a perfectly fixed optical center.
Primary Function: To hold a lens or mirror of a specific diameter (usually 50mm) securely on a vertical rod, which then slots into an optical bench slider.
Construction:
Circular Frame: A metal ring, usually made of brass or chrome-plated steel, with a groove inside to seat the lens.
Spring Clip: Features a small, curved spring at the top that provides just enough tension to hold the lens in place without cracking the glass.
Support Rod: A vertical metal rod (stem), typically 10mm in diameter, attached to the bottom of the ring.
